Goodbye MXNA – Hello Feed-Squirrel

Wednesday 19 December 2007 - Filed under Code

Going to the squirrels

OK. I’ve been patient with MXNA. The errors, the downtime, the slowness. I’ve been using MXNA since it first came out – but it’s always been buggy and lately it just seems like it’s getting slower and slower and the errors more frequent.

So today I’m switching to Feed-Squirrel. Fast, speedy and for the last few days I haven’t noticed any odd errors.

Ohhh. I did forget about that. :(

I’ll add that as well and give it a try!!

I agree that MXNA is quite slow, but I hate the top frame of Feed-Squirrel…

Yeah. I don’t mind it too much. I could see it compressed by default and then a bit of jQuery to expand it if you wanted to see it…

I’m sure if you email Neil he would sort something out.

@Ahmet The frame was put it to try and help promote the site a little when people came in from RSS and the link. It won’t be there for good, and if it doesn’t disappear it will definitely shrink down.

As always with the site, if people don’t tell me what they think of it, then I can’t improve it.

@Neil – sounds good. It doesn’t really bother me – I like the functionality.

As I said – I could easily see this having some kind of show/hide button on it. Since I’ve been playing with jQuery I’m now always wanting to toggle stuff :)
